2011 Calendars

What better way to celebrate a new year than to make calendars! :) as staunch "India" lovers we enjoyed every minute of designing these calendars.

The first is a very feminine and languid design enjoying the grace of a deer, the sprinkling of champas and the filigree of the trees as they change over the year. We wanted very much to use indian objects in a very uncharacteristically minimal way. This is part of a series that brings together indian flora and fauna here in an almost zen-like illustration.

The next calendar is a riot of color and fun. Again we wanted to continue the "India" theme and pay homage to the very tolerant indian attitude of "live and let live". Trucks rub elbows with cows, parrots atop street signs, and nobody finds it unusually ridiculous!

Love them! Can't decide which I'd pick, I love them both. The grace of the first and the riot of the second. I'm sure these must have been fun to make. The look great!
