Possessions and Exorcisms

This is our take on the ‘horror biggies’, that achieved cult status - The Exorcist and The Evil Dead. Both were top grossers (pun intended) of their time and inspired many sequels. Each of the films deals with possession and is grotesque & graphic in its own way.
The Exorcist, unlike most of films of this genre, achieved critical acclaim and Oscars while The Evil Dead achieved a pop-cult status. The Exorcist is a sober and almost tragic take on possession and exorcism.
The Evil Dead, on the other hand, may seem almost satirical (which in this case is just a kind way of saying comical) by today's standards but when it was released it was considered way too violent and banned in many countries including Germany (in some cases for as long as 10 years). This is our tribute to two very different but path-breaking styles of Horror film making.

Never Sleep Again!

And this our dual tribute to the comic book culture that became more sinister around the same time this classic camp horror story was keeping people awake at night with its kitschy slashes and bloodbaths.

Vintage Horror

This poster is a new take on horror films. It is feminine and demure. And yet there is an undercurrent of violence and death. Here is our vintage interpretation of Silence of the Lambs (1991)

Axes and Pitchforks

Continuing our horror theme, this week we decided to go with scary children! Of course the top candidates were the nightmarishly innocuous twins from The Shining and the deceptively young murderous crusaders from Children of the Corn! Enjoy!

Popcorn and the Thrills!

It has been a very very long time since we last posted. So here we are back in the fray, guns ablaze!
Thanks to the torrential downpour in Delhi over the past few weeks, we ended up watching a lot of classic horror movies. And this is our tribute to the genre of chills and thrills.
Welcome to our world of psychotic sons, antichrists, ghosts and monsters! Hope you enjoy it too.
