Possessions and Exorcisms

This is our take on the ‘horror biggies’, that achieved cult status - The Exorcist and The Evil Dead. Both were top grossers (pun intended) of their time and inspired many sequels. Each of the films deals with possession and is grotesque & graphic in its own way.
The Exorcist, unlike most of films of this genre, achieved critical acclaim and Oscars while The Evil Dead achieved a pop-cult status. The Exorcist is a sober and almost tragic take on possession and exorcism.
The Evil Dead, on the other hand, may seem almost satirical (which in this case is just a kind way of saying comical) by today's standards but when it was released it was considered way too violent and banned in many countries including Germany (in some cases for as long as 10 years). This is our tribute to two very different but path-breaking styles of Horror film making.
